Cleaning

Post by glassass12 » Wed May 09, 2018 12:45 am

Had some bloom in the bottom chamber of my peyote pillar and was given some pure sodium carbonate from a friend who works in a coffee shop and said it’s what they use to clean the staining and cloudyness off the glass mugs. Ended up using it with the piece pretty dirty and after mixing it with hot water and letting it foam for a few minutes then rinsing with cold water their was no resin left in the piece and all the bloom was gone. Just looking for people’s opinions and to spread some knowledge. I don’t have before pics but am about to do it with my Kingstem that has major staining in the stem and could post before and afters if anyone wanted.
